Jim Beam goes to Wall Street

Beam Inc. may have rivals circling the maker of Jim Beam bourbon, Sauza tequila and Courvoisier cognac as the global liquor industry tries to consolidate.

Deerfield, Illinois based Beam lists on the New York Stock Exchange as the successor to publicly traded Fortune Brands Inc., which sold its golf business in July and is spinning off its home-products unit into a separately listed company.
